Organics & Breast Cancer
In October I attended a lecture by Dr. Christine Horner, nationally known surgeon and author of the book “Waking The Warrior Goddess: Dr. Christine Horner’s Program to Protect Against & Fight Breast Cancer”. Breast cancer is the most common and featured cancer among American women. Dr. Horner is a specialist in reconstructive plastic surgery following breast cancer and became alarmed over the increasing number of very young women she saw in her practice with breast cancer. After her own mother was diagnosed and then died from this disease, Dr. Horner began an intensive search of the medical literature to find what, if anything, could help prevent breast cancer. She found a tremendous amount of little-known research from reputable sources such as the Harvard Medical Review, proving that women can greatly reduce their risk of breast cancer (and men can reduce their risk of prostate cancer which has a similar profile), through natural means. This includes eating organic foods, exercising, sleeping during ideal hours, and using herbs, supplements, meditation, and detoxification. Dr. Horner cites the example of young girls menstruating and developing breasts at earlier ages as a result of the hormones they consume from the milk, beef etc. in their diet. Farmers give growth hormones to commercial cattle in order to increase profits through greater production, and those hormones end up in the diets of our daughters. The earlier the development of young women, the higher their risk of breast cancer. A frightening thought that would seem to justify purchasing organic foods.
